Sonoma

On a recent trip to Sonoma, CA, we had the good fortune to visit Ravenswood winery. Excellent tour and excellent Zinandels. I like their most recent offering, Zen Zin. Very smooth and fragrant.

 

The vineyards, which are organic and self-sustaining. No chemicals, fertilizer or insecticides used.

Definitely worth the trip!

Torino Olympic Games

Last month I was in Torino, doing some videotaping and photography, as Johnson & Johnson was one of the sponsors of the Olympic games, and will also be a major sponsor of the 2008 games in Beijing. Torino is a great city, and world-famous for its chocolate, a fact of which I was not aware, but quickly found out why. It is delicious!

Back to School

My son Zachary, and I, recently took a trip to Goucher College in Towson, MD, where he's thinking of transferring for his junior year. It's a great small little school and it made me fondly remember the time I was in College in Oberlin, Ohio --- though I didn't like it so much then! It's the old, "if I knew then, what I know now...", or "youth is wasted on the young!" Anyway, we had a good time and it seems like a great place to go.

Tokyo

One of the consolations of travel, which can be exhausting and wearing, is the sampling of great food - whether the Won Ton soup in Beijing, the roasted lamb in Mumbai, or the superb sushi in Tokyo. The last was enjoyed in a little sushi bar around the corner from the Imperial Hotel, its lobby festively decorated for the holidays.
